A New Wave of ELECTRIC CIGARETTES
An e-cigarette, also known as an electronic nicotine delivery system, is really a new digital camera that basically replicates the action of cigarette smoking through the heating of a chemical substance (e-juice) in a cartridge. It features a battery, an electrical power source like a rechargeable battery, and a reservoir such as a tank or cartridge. Instead of smoke, the vaper inhales invisible vapor instead. As such, using an e-cigarette is not actually called “smoking” at all – it’s more accurately called “consuming”.
Currently, e-cigs have been successfully used by thousands of smokers to lessen or completely eliminate their smoking habits. But what about the teenagers who are still technically smokers, but that are trying to kick the habit? Is there a market for e-cigarette use among students? The solution may surprise you.
Most e-cigs do not contain nicotine at all. Because of this they’re completely safe for anyone to use. E-cigs that contain nicotine are often nicotine-free or at least hypo-allergenic, so children and adult non-smokers are equally likely to experience no dangerous nicotine side effects. And even for teens and young adults who may be worried about potential dangers, utilizing an e-cig with no nicotine content can still be highly effective for a while. A nicotine-free cartridge will keep a smoker’s lungs from developing excessive mucus and saliva, and the aerosol is considered less harmful compared to the smoke from the conventional cigarette.
There are some health concerns about the liquid nicotine content in e-cigs. Nicotine is a poison that’s highly toxic when it’s mixed with other chemicals. But because the nicotine content is diluted in the liquid itself, it poses little danger when it comes into connection with other substances. Actually, researchers have found that nicotine is mildly toxic when applied to the skin. Manufacturers have already been in a position to minimize this danger by including only small amounts of the poison in the majority of their products. A spray bottle or tip will help to disperse the poison throughout the liquid.
There’s some concern about the aftereffect of secondhand e-cigarette aerosol on respiratory diseases. Smoke from cigarettes contains more cancer-causing compounds than the e-cigarette aerosol itself. But these studies have not proven a link between secondhand smoking and any sort of respiratory disease.
Most companies have recognized the need to market a healthier product to teenage and young adults. Some companies have added flavors and textures to their past products so that they interest the tastes of the younger consumer. One such addition is fruit flavored e-juice. Juul offers apple, blueberry, cherry and lemon flavors that interest the tastes of many teenage and young adult consumers.
The most recent creation by a major tobacco company is the electronic cigar or tank system. These are battery powered, plug and go cigarette vapes that can be used anywhere and anytime. They don’t require a warming plate or an atomizer, so they are ideal for college campuses, apartments and bus or train stations. Using a cigarette lighter, EightVape one simply takes out the vial of liquid solution, places the unit in the air and starts smoking.
E-Cigarette technology has come a long way. With the help of flavors and textures, these products are now more appealing to teenagers and young adults than ever before. Manufacturers are scrambling to figure out new ways to combat the rising problem of smoking among younger people. Although there is no real way to determine how much of a direct effect these new electronic cigarettes could have on the smoking rates, it is just a clear indication that something is changing in the wonderful world of smoking.
